Mark Bennett, Senior Leader of Towy Communuity Church
Mark Bennett is the Pastor of Towy Church. He was born and raised, a son of a coal miner, in the village of Ponthenri situated in the Gwendraeth valley, South West Wales.
He joined the Royal Marines as a teenager and served in various countries including Northern Ireland and Norway. It was during this time that Mark encountered Christ which completely changed his life.
After leaving the Marines Mark studied on a full time basis at a local theological college before commencing his journey into Church leadership which has lasted over 20 years. Mark and his wife Nicola planted and established Towy Church in 2001 which has now grown to a congregation of over 150 people including many teenagers and families with young children.
Mark leads a team of elders which provides oversight for a wider leadership team consisting of leaders of small groups, youth & children’s workers and various community projects.
Mark & Nicola have been married for 18 years, they have three sons and currently live in the town of Carmarthen. |
