You know the Armour of God passage well. You probably picture a roman soldier and have imagery of a brave disconnected person to yourself. Read the passage again, replace the armour with clothing you would wear.
This month young adults, your mountain to climb is figuring out what the Armour of God looks like on you, in your every day.
Over the next four weeks we are going to be looking at Jesus wearing the Armour of God. He shows us what to do and what to wear in different situations. The armour of God isn't about being a fearless warrior, brave beyond imagination. The Armour is to show us what to do when things get tough, to protect us and set us firmly on the Rock that is God.
To Be Brave, You First Must Be Afraid
Being brave isn’t about not feeling scared. Real courage is all about having fear and finding a way through it.
TASK: Read Matthew 4 vs 1 - 11

There is a lot to think about when guarding our minds and knowing God's truth to speak into tough situations. In what everyday life situations would you also need to wear these two pieces of Armour? How are you going to remember to use them when the time arises?

Romans 12 vs 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
TASK: Read tables turning, Matthew 21 vs12-13
THINK: Everything flows from our hearts, in this passage we see Jesus' passion for God overflow into righteous anger. Take a bit of time to think, am I passionate about God? If you are not sure, think about things that make you upset about the world and life and see how God works in those situations and think about why you get upset or feel angry about those things. Does knowing God have something to do with how you feel about things in the world that make you feel like this? Being passionate about God and what you believe is something that grows through knowing Jesus more and more, So our next questions is - Do I guard my heart? Guarding our hearts what does that mean and how do you guard your heart?
CHALLENGE: Make a breast plate of righteousness to guard your heart in the most creative way you can think of .... and send in photo graphic evidence (you don't have to be able to wear it) So ideas: It could be a cake or a sandcastle, a card board box or a model.... the options are all up to your imagination.
SUBMIT: A photograph of your breastplate of righteousness and write down anything that you felt jumped out at you from the passage and when you were digging deeper in the THINK section (this is a way God talks to you, Go deeper? If something did jump out at you, put on some worship music or find some space and have a chat with Jesus, ask him if he has any more he wants to show you and think about the thing that jumped out at you and see what happens)
PROVERBS 4:23 Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
THINK: Do you think miracles possible today? Have you seen or experienced a miracle? If you want to see more of God, ask him, but remember, when you ask God for things, you may have to try something new and step out your comfort zone!
Shield of Faith. Draw a design of your own shield of faith and include things that represent how God has been faithful to you or your faith has been strengthened by God.

TASK: Let's take time to pray this week, Put aside 15 minutes to colour in one of the pictures below (you can download and print them or colour them digitally). Before you start colouring stop, pray and ask Jesus to speak to you as you colour and focus on him.
Pray over the last few weeks passages and the things you've focused on and see if Jesus brings anything significant to mind. You may have a picture come to mind or a feeling. Ask Jesus to show you more about what he is saying to you.
Each month we will be giving Jesus the opportunity to speak to us and working on listening for God. Learning to figure out how he speaks to you is really important in your relationship with him. If you have questions about this ask us in the chat forum under "how God speaks to us". There will also be leaders writing about how God speaks to them and all the different experiences we have with God.
